Top: Similar, Pants: Similar, Bag: c/o Fancy Details boutique

I’m not going to lie to you guys, I had a little (a lot of) help from pinterest in creating this outfit. See here. But, I added a necklace and a bag. And myself. So, totally original. If we’re not Pinterest bff’s, we should be. I know that’s where I get the bulk of my outfit inspiration anymore, and if we’re following each other, I can steal your ideas, too.

So, this was the outfit I wore to my birthday dinner on Friday night. My birthday isn’t until Monday, but since nobody wants to celebrate anything on a Monday, we are celebrating this weekend! And, nothing says “Happy Early Birthday” like black on black, right?

Blazer: similar, Pants: similar,  Lips: Maybelline Fuchsia Fever, Sunglasses: House of Harlow

We didn’t have near as much planned this weekend as we usually do. Our football team played in the evening yesterday, so we had a nice full day to do pretty much nothing instead. (We could have just skipped that game altogether, because they lost. :( Better luck, next week.) I do have a sock in my hair, today, though…. and I’m wearing like 4 trends at once. So, that’s something. ;)

the apple orchard

Each year, since I can remember, my family has taken a trip to Sky Top Apple Orchard in North Carolina to pick our own apples. (Just going to the store to buy apples isn’t near as fun, trust me.) Except, you make tons of apple crisps and cobblers instead of carving pumpkins. And, it’s kind of an early fall staple, now around our house.

bits and pieces

In the preparations for fall, I haven’t had a lot of time for blogging. I’ve been too busy pretending to be decorating in my free time… But on the up side, the house is filled with tones of red and orange throughout, like the mountain leaves in October, and smells like yankee candle’s rendition of apples, and cinnamon, and crisp fall air. I painted my nails a dark fall color, and my mom took my sister and I on a shopping spree, in which I purchased plenty of new fall wardrobe essentials. And – bonus! We’re going to pick apples this weekend! My favorite little family trip, ever. Fall, I’m ready!

fall and maxi’s

Skirt: T.J. Maxx, Blazer: Similar, Sunglasses: House of Harlow, Watch: Target

Maxi skirts make me feel like an old woman. I’m just going to say that. But, I really like the look of this one – the sheer part shows enough leg to be a little more youthful, but it’s still “maxi”, so we’re on trend. Add a blazer, and you’re ready for a slightly cooler day (like today – YAY!). I’m so happy to see my blazers again. Soon, I’ll be pulling out the boots, too! Ohmagoodness.
