Textured pants are a new addition to my wardrobe, and I’m in love! They create dimension in what would otherwise be a very flat look. I’m having a lot of fun with the length of these pants as well-it’s been rather toasty this summer so far and these have treated me very well in light of that. I can’t wait to mix and match these bottoms throughout the remainder of the season!
I’m not sure how it happens, but somehow, when I find a color that my wardrobe is lacking in, I gravitate to that color for weeks. I decided that I didn’t have much purple on the blog, and now I have three very purple outfits… this one, and two more, in the backlog for outfit posts. I guess I get fixated on things, in that way. In other non-purple outfit news, the weekend is coming up… Ross just finished up a project at work, and got good feedback, so we’re excited to relax and have fun as a family. I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a relaxing, fun weekend, as well!
For my very first post on the blog, I’m really excited about this little outfit! When Jess and I were discussing my comfort level with a pencil skirt and flats, my response was, “sure! Let’s try it!” I’m glad we did. I work in an office all day and, while this gives me an opportunity to put together professional yet feminine outfits, I am sometimes stumped! This look makes me happy because it works in an office setting, and also for church/brunch/it’s-summer-and-
Here I am again, layering it up in the heat of Summer… all in the name of fashion. It’s okay. I’ve come to accept the fact that I can’t deal with the reality of the seasons. That’ll be me – shivering in the early Spring because there’s still snow on the ground, but I “Have to wear my new lace dress!”, and sweating in the heat of summer and early fall because I can’t wait for the cooler air to arrive so I actually have a reason to wear the new fleece-lined boots I just got. But it’s not boot season yet, and these pink sandals are my new favorites. They’re sold out at old navy, but I’ve listed some very similar links. Happy shopping!
Candace and I have been friends for several years, and both share a love for thrifty fashion. She’ll be joining highheelstosneakers, and we’ll alternate publishing outfit posts featuring Candace and myself. Be on the lookout for an update to the “about” page and more information on Candace and Jessica.
